FAQ
How often are gold prices updated?
Every 2 hours, automatically. Each run re-reads the international gold quote and the current exchange rate, then recalculates every karat for every market.
Which countries do you cover?
Gold prices for 22 Arab markets: Morocco, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Mauritania, Somalia, Djibouti, Comoros.
Is this financial or investment advice?
No. Prices are provided for informational purposes only and should not be treated as investment advice.
Where does the gold price come from?
From the COMEX front-month gold futures contract (symbol GC=F) via Yahoo Finance, quoted in US dollars per troy ounce. That figure is converted into each local currency at the current exchange rate and scaled by karat purity. Each price page shows the exact quote and exchange rate used.
Is the price shown what a jeweler charges?
No. These figures are the value of the gold metal itself. A finished piece also carries making charges, the retailer's margin and any local tax, so a shop's price is normally higher — and dealers buying used gold typically pay less. Use these prices as a reference for comparison, not as a quoted transaction price.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — 9 dedicated country apps. See the "Get the App" section on the homepage.
